about

I discovered Kenny Wheeler’s music in 1979, when I was 17. It was a long time ago but everytime I listen his music, it amazes me as if it were the first time. Kenny created a sonorous universe full of subtle details. He was an exquisite artist and a very accomplished musician. His work is an endless source of knowledge that left a profound mark on me along the years.
This work is not intended to be anything other than an act of love for his music.

I would like to dedicate this album to Marcelo Peralta, a great musician and one of my dearest friends, who passed away in Madrid on March 10th. 2020, at age 59.

"The band executes the music in a perfect way, all getting space to shine in improvisations, but all serving the song first of all. Bazzola has a great and full sound on his instrument and is an accomplished soloist himself. ‘A smile For Kenny’, one of the many amazingly beautiful tracks on the album, would truly have made Wheeler smile – love and respect packed into sound. Highly recommended!"

"There's a level of detail in regard to the band's interplay as well as the music's arrangements and its melodically interwoven constitution that reaches far beyond an act of homage to another musician but merits its own place in the modern jazz canon. Thus, Lost & Found not only proves that Bazzola is one of the most studious and in-depth scholars of Wheeler's music out there, but more importantly, the album demonstrates a virtuoso composer in his own right who has mastered his art in most accomplished fashion."
